While the building is closed to public walk-ins during the COVID-19 pandemic, services will be available by appointment to Sullivan County residents only. Call the Clerk’s Office at (845) 807-0411 to schedule an appointment for pistol, civil or land department transactions. To schedule a DMV appointment, go to the DMV Appointment Scheduler. Drop boxes are available in the Government Center lobby for both the County Clerk’s Office and the DMV. Only license renewals, registration renewals and plate surrenders are accepted in the DMV drop off box. See the DMV page for detailed transaction information.

We, as record keepers of hundreds of thousands of legal documents and public records relating to business, property ownership, and civil and criminal cases, are there to help you navigate the system. In addition, the County Clerk serves as an official passport application acceptance agency, processes pistol permit applications, files Veteran's discharges (DD-214) as well as issuing DBA's and processing notary public licenses and renewals. Notary services in general are also available on a daily basis.
