POW/MIA Day to Be Observed in Monticello

Fallen Comrades Table

The Fallen Comrade Table, present at every Sullivan County POW/MIA Recognition Day, features a specific set of items designed to remember American servicepeople who were/are prisoners of war or missing in action.

Monticello, NY – The Sullivan County Veterans Service Agency will have a special ceremony in honor of POW/MIA Recognition Day at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Veterans Memorial, located outside the Sullivan County Government Center, 100 North Street, Monticello.

The public is cordially invited to attend this special ceremony.

“Please join us in taking the time to remember those who were Prisoners of War (POW), those who are Missing in Action (MIA), and their families,” offered Veterans Service Agency Director John Crotty.

While this Ceremony will be held outside, it will be on County property, so masks will be required to be worn for those standing or sitting closer than 6 feet.
