Liberty, NY – An error on a State website inaccurately listed Sullivan County – specifically Public Health Services’ office in Liberty – as hosting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic tomorrow (Friday, January 15).
“Sullivan County has NO vaccination clinics scheduled for tomorrow,” Public Health Director Nancy McGraw stated. “Area providers who have requested vaccine, as well as Public Health Services, are all awaiting further shipments of COVID-19 vaccine.”
State officials have been notified of the mistake, and Public Health staff are contacting everyone who has attempted to register for the non-existent clinic.
“We want to ensure they don’t make an unnecessary trip to our office,” McGraw added. “We don’t want to add to the public’s frustration or our already high workload, which is what will happen if we have people showing up at our doors tomorrow.”
Public Health Services is planning to mount a weekly vaccination clinic starting Jan. 20, depending upon receipt of vaccine, followed by a series of mass COVID-19 vaccinations at SUNY Sullivan in Loch Sheldrake, which is also dependent upon receiving yet-to-be-delivered vaccine doses.
