Get Creative at Our Parks This Summer!

Monticello, NY – Sullivan County’s new poet laureate Sharon Kennedy-Nolle and former poet laureate Eric Baylin have teamed up together to offer a series of FREE summer en plein air Poetry and Art workshops in cooperation with the Sullivan County Parks & Recreation Department.

Sharon and Eric will lead a two-hour creative outing beginning at 11 a.m. at five locales beloved for their natural beauty:

  • June 25 - Stone Arch Bridge, Jeffersonville
  • July 9 - Lake Superior, Bethel
  • August 6 - D&H Canal, Summitville
  • August 20 - Minisink Battleground Park, Barryville
  • August 27 - Covered Bridge Park, Livingston Manor

Each park site features a different historical and cultural focus. Using nature as inspiration for painting, drawing, and verse-making, the workshops bring art and poetry into creative conversation.

Participants must be age 13 and up. All materials are provided, and no experience is necessary. Bring a pencil, water bottle, bug spray, comfortable shoes, and a willingness to explore and connect with the natural landscape.
